Communication Design @ BETA Technologies

Collected works from my two subsequent graphic design internships at BETA Technologies, an experimental electric (EVTOL) aviation company based in South Burlington, VT. During my time at BETA, I developed two annual intern gifts, uniforms for the company’s dragon boat race team, posters for in-house speaker series, company-wide event announcements, as well as numerous slide decks, custom icons, event graphics, and website upkeep.

The 2022 company-wide intern t-shirt. The lightning bolts reference the electric aviation the company is developing and the birds, specifically arctic terns, are a nod to the plane’s design, which uses biomimicry inspired by the aerodynamic bird.

The company hosts a bi-weekly speaker series (“BETA Bytes of Knowledge”) featuring a variety of local speakers, often employees, who speak on topics they’re passionate about. I was tasked to design posters with which to advertise the events and present as a gift to the speakers afterwards.

Based on work by Abbey Blankensop.

The 2021 company-wide intern gift, a sticker sheet featuring planes from the BETA fleet. The sheet is to be used like travel stickers representing the many different places a person has visited, but in this case, every plane from the fleet an employee has ridden in.

Date & Duration
Summer 2021, 2 weeks

Programs

The 2022 uniform for the BETA Motor Boaters, the company’s award-winning dragon boat team. This jersey, as well as the team name, made for the second year of the company’s participation in the event, includes a not-so-subtle nod to the festival’s fundraising for breast cancer research.
